Discover Your Ayurvedic Beauty-Type: Free eCourse
By Dr. Helen Thomas, D.C. | March 11, 2008

In India, women dress to the hilt every day. That was a shock to me. When I grew up in California in the 60s, my mother would wear slacks and tennis shoes for anything but a special occasion.
Today, I wanted to talk to you about the Ayurvedic approach to beauty. In Ayurveda there is little difference between the words “health” and “beauty.” Plus, I have a big announcement to share with you on the same subject. But first I wanted to explain…
You’ve probably been wondering why we haven’t talked much about our trip to India since our return. It’s certainly not because we weren’t blown away by the experience we had there. In fact, we’ll be sharing our travel journal with you very soon.
We saw patients who needed dialysis regenerate their kidney functions, gangrene sufferers avoid amputation and a crippled young lady mend bones that medical doctors had deemed permanently shattered. All with Ayurvedic treatments. Amazing to think British colonialism gave Ayurvedic hospitals the boot, labeling it as ineffective “folk medicine.”
Our Big Announcement: Since our return we have focused on completing a long overdue project: The Effortless Ayurvedic Beauty site. Here I’m making available to you all of the beauty related Ayurvedic information, recipes and treatments I’ve collected through our various trips to India, my study of the ancient texts and my own personal experiments (on myself!).
In the West, We’ve Made Beauty Such a
Complex, Competitive and Confusing
Profit-Driven Industry
People (especially women) are lured into seeking impossible beauty goals, using costly and unhealthy chemicals (AKA goop). In fact, many beauty products (even those found in health food stores) are damaging to your skin, face and hair. They dry it out and make you ever more dependent on squirting something out of a bottle.
The greatest and simplest way to determine if your beauty care regimen nourishes your body is to answer this one question: Would you put it in your mouth?
In other words: Would you eat your moisturizer? Would you feed your shampoo to your child?
If you answered no, then why are you putting this stuff on your skin? We absorb through thousands of pores whatever we lather on our skin.
We really face two problematic issues here in the West: 1) We are told to pursue unrealistic beauty goals. 2) We are then given damaging treatments to obtain those impossible goals.
Ayurveda’s Solution to Our Modern Beauty Crisis
I’ll discuss these issues with you in more detail right on the home page of my new site. There you’ll see Ayurveda’s solution to our modern beauty crisis. Through the free ecourse you’ll learn how to determine which beauty goals are right for your Ayurvedic “Beauty-Type” (your doshas as they pertain to beauty). You’ll discover how to identify harmful off-the-shelf beauty care products. And I’ll introduce you to formulas, using edible foodstuffs, that you can create in your own home.
Not only are natural approaches to beauty care more effective - they sure are less expensive. Not only because the base ingredients are cheaper… but because they are more effective. You don’t need to use them as often. Higher quality equals less applications! If you find yourself squeezing more and more goop out of the bottle - then those days may be over.
Released to the World for the First Time
To start, I’ll be launching an ecourse, called Discover Your Ayurvedic Beauty-Type, this Friday. Head over now and sign up (plus tell all your friends). It’s a totally free course, that I’ll be releasing for the first time over the following two weeks.
Not only will you receive the free eCourse, but you can instantly download a copy of my FREE ANTI-AGING REPORT: How to Keep Your Skin Looking Youthful And Avoid Signs of Premature Aging. In addition, if you let three friends know about the site, you can also download a copy of Overcome Common Complexion Problems Ayurvedically.
Building Your Connection with the Spirit of Elegance
It’s far time the West discovers India’s mature and balanced attitude to personal beauty care.
I find the India psyche quite interesting in this regard. I’ve observed this through my countless trips to this ancient land. The Indian mentality reflects the desire to build their connection with the Spirit of Elegance. They want to optimize the human experience. I don’t think they always hit that mark, but the seed of that desire lives inside them.
The Indians taught me that by expressing and caring for your outward beauty, you develop a deeper connection with the Greater Beauty inside. This outward caring for the physical, will build your connection with the spiritual.
Now, with The Effortless Ayurvedic Beauty Program you can attend to all your beauty needs, without resorting to harmful chemicals or surgery. By understanding your Beauty-Type, you’ll know what beauty goals you should be reaching for, and the quickest and most natural means to obtain it.

P.S. After you check out the Effortless Ayurvedic Beauty site, sign up for the ecourse and download your free Ayurvedic Beauty reports, please come back here and leave a comment below… How do you feel the pursuit for health and harmony fit in with the pursuit for beauty? Do you think Western media disfigures the quest for beauty? Have you been concerned about the ingredients in the beauty care products you use? What question do you have about Ayurvedic Beauty goals and treatments?

Ayurveda has given me a better understanding of my natural beauty and my truth as a woman–not a model but a Vata Beauty. Making homemade cleansers and moisturizers makes me feel like I am doing something good for my health and taking the time to be with me–which is very precious when you have other things on your plate that distract you.
